My Favourite Homeware and Fashion Stores in Los Angeles

There’s something truly magical about exploring new cities, especially when that city is as vibrant and eclectic as Los Angeles. During our recent two-week holiday, we found ourselves wandering through sun-soaked streets, discovering beautiful boutiques, stylish showrooms, and hidden gems. If you're like me and can’t resist a well-curated homeware display or a perfectly fitted jacket, then you'll love these finds from some of my favourite shops in LA. Whether you’re on the hunt for timeless home pieces, the perfect wardrobe update, or something one-of-a-kind, here’s where you should go. A lot of my recommendations are chain stores, but ones we don’t have in the UK, so were exciting to visit, nonetheless.

1. Crate & Barrel
   This iconic store was a haven for all things modern and minimal. I found myself captivated by their clean lines and neutral palettes. Whether you're decorating your kitchen or bedroom, Crate & Barrel has something effortlessly chic to offer. I fell in love with their glassware collection—perfect for hosting cozy dinner parties.

2. West Elm
   For those looking to blend function with style, West Elm is a dream. Their mix of mid-century modern and contemporary designs brings a touch of elegance to any space. I couldn't resist picking up a few pieces for our new living room—a lush velvet cushion and a sleek ceramic vase that will bring some much-needed texture to our space.

3. Buck Mason
   On the fashion front, Buck Mason was a delightful surprise. Their classic, well-made basics were the perfect foundation for building a timeless wardrobe. Their denim and perfectly fitted tees are a must-have if you're looking for pieces that feel laid-back but put-together.

4. Todd Snyder
   "Todd Snyder’s store felt like stepping into a world of effortless luxury. From tailored suits to casual weekend wear, everything in the shop felt impeccably crafted. I came away with a gorgeous wool jumper that will easily become a staple in my autumn wardrobe.

5. Melrose Trading Post (Thrifting)
   I couldn't talk about shopping in LA without mentioning Melrose Trading Post. This outdoor market is a treasure trove for vintage lovers and thrifters alike. We spent a glorious Sunday morning browsing through retro home décor, handmade jewellery, and one-of-a-kind clothing pieces. It’s the perfect place to find something truly unique for your home.

6. Arhaus
   If you’re a fan of bold, statement furniture, Arhaus is a must-visit. Their showroom was filled with pieces that feel like they’ve come straight out of a design magazine—elegant, timeless, and just a bit daring. I was particularly drawn to their range of luxurious velvet sofas and artisan lighting.

7. Fellow
   For the coffee lovers like me out there, Fellow is a shop you can't miss. Specialising in beautifully designed coffee tools, it’s where you can find everything you need to elevate your morning brew. We both picked up one of their coffee flasks, and it’s already become a favourite part of our morning routine.

8. The Last Line
   Rounding out my list is The Last Line, a stunning jewellery brand that offers pieces that feel both modern and timeless. I was particularly drawn to their playful yet refined designs, perfect for adding a subtle touch of fun to any outfit.

Los Angeles truly has something for everyone, from high-end fashion and thoughtfully designed homeware to quirky vintage finds.
